Help a Heart – Who’s Your Hero?

I’m really please to announce that I am an ambassador for a new campaign by Works with Water Nutraceuticals that launches today called Help a Heart: Nominate Your Hero.

This fantastic project is all about celebrating our unsung heros and creating a more social, considerate society for the New Year and I’m all about that! It’s around this time of year, with Christmas and New Year out of the way and resolutions going down the toilet that we all start to lack motivation and need a little pick me up.

Starting today, every day for four weeks, people are invited to nominate their own everyday hero in their lives – the people that regularly perform acts of kindness that perhaps get taken for granted and give their reasons why that person is special.

I’ve already nominated my hero. Her name is Lena Doherty. She is a blogger and mother. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting her in real life, but back in October, she wrote a blog post about making the decision to pursue her dreams after being raised to believe that dreaming wasn’t allowed and you should just ‘get a proper job.’ I was really moved as she talked of being trapped in that mentality for 20 years, but finally making the decision to follow her passion for writing. I admire her courage – she’s a mum of three and is changing her life. To me, she’s a great reminder that it’s never too late to chase your dreams.

Right, so how can you nominate your hero? Easy!

– Leave a comment over at www.workswithwater.co.uk/HelpaHeart

– Email them at helpaheart@workswithwater.co.uk

– Tweet them at @HelpaHeart using the hash tag #HelpaHeart

The most compelling entry each week will win an exclusive breakfast-in-bed Heart Warming Hamper worth £70, which will be delivered to the person you’ve nominated as your hero with a personalized note saying ‘you’re my hero’. The first winner will be chosen this Friday, with subsequent winners announced every Friday, ending 11 February.

So, start spreading the love! Who’s your hero?
