How To Dress For Your Body Shape

I recently did a little project with Marks and Spencer about how to dress for your body shape. I was one of five bloggers, each of us representing a different body shape, brought in to go through their dress collection to show which styles suit our shape the best. I’m a massive advocate of knowing your body shape and dressing it properly – it makes such a massive difference. I see so many women wearing styles that do nothing to flatter them. There should be more services available that teach women how to make the most of what they’ve got.
I’m a ‘rectangle’. I have a pretty athletic build, broad shoulders and hips and I’m fairly straight up and down, not very curvy so I tend to go for shapes that will attract attention to my waist (or give me the illusion of having one!).
If you’re unsure of your body shape and how to dress it effectively, most major department stores have a personal shopping department and in my experience, they are really helpful with demonstrating what works and what doesn’t. Go investigate!

Nissan LEAF Big Turn On Challenge

So, Nissan approached me a few weeks and offered to give me their new Nissan LEAF, an electric car, to test drive for a couple of weeks as part of their Big Turn On Challenge. (I know, I know, this is my life, I understand it’s a little crazy). I know what you’re thinking, ‘But Bangs! You don’t drive!’ That was my reaction exactly, my friends. But knowing that my other half does and being quite adamant in my own attempts to save the planet through recycling, conserving energy and what have you, I was really interested in trying out an electric car.

Bangs Does PopHive

The fabulous Cate Sevilla, founder of the awesome website Bitch Buzz, recently expanded her awesomeness exponentially with the creation of PopHive, an internet TV show all about pop culture. She recently asked if she could interview me and I’m never one to turn down til avec La Sevilla. We had a great ol’ chat about blogging and running and a quick fire round of questions for which I gave some rather embarrassing answers (well, my love of Phil Collins may be embarrassing to you, but I’m fine with it).

It just stands to reason of course that we filmed this on what must have been my worst skin day in a very long time, so apologies that you have to look at my rather distressed looking face, but hopefully you’re too busy being distracted by my mind blowing intelligence that you barely even notice.

My Very First Run

I started running in July 2010. Yesterday, I was going back through my old YouTube videos and found this one that I made after my second run. It’s all about how much I hate running and how awful it is. Oh, how the tables have turned! I found it really interesting to watch, given where I am now in my running journey. I’ve learned so much along the way and watching this reminds me that if you stick at something, you can learn to love it, get better at it and grow in ways you never thought possible. This has been an important reminder for me and I think I’ll revisit this video whenever I doubt what I’m doing. I don’t think I’ve dedicated myself more to something in my life than I have to this.

It’s about so much more than running.
