I used to be a West London girl – the streets of Hammersmith, Shepherd’s Bush and Ladbroke Grove being my stomping grounds. Rarely, if ever, did I venture East. So, when I moved back down to London after a few years bouncing around various countries, and found myself living East side, I stumbled across a brave new world. Sure, the vibe’s different over this way (to say the least), but one of the best ongoing discoveries of the area is the street art, particularly around Shoreditch.

I love an early morning run, but it’s hard to drag anyone with you at 6:30am and after mile upon mile of making conversation with yourself, well, frankly, it can get a little boring. I’m all for making running a social event, which is why I love an evening run, followed by dinner. When you can gorge yourself on tasty grub with your mates afterwards, suddenly the whole thing is more appealing.
Here are my top five post-run Shoreditch faves:

Running comes with all sorts of challenges (mainly keeping your lungs inside your body) and the environment in which you run can make all the difference. I’m not one for running of the fell, mountain or trail variety. I’m very much a big city chick. I love London with all my heart and pounding its pavements on my training runs just confirms to me each time how much. My life and work are based mainly around East London, so I thought I’d share a route I run regularly and enjoy.

It’s the summer of sport! And with so much awesomeness happening over the next few weeks, Puma have brought me on board to do a spot of blogging for them. They have a great sports/lifestyle space on Brick Lane called Puma Yard and as I’m an East London resident, they wanted to get a feel for what life’s like for me as I live, work and play in this part of the city. So, keep an eye out here and over on Puma.com and Puma.com/YARD for updates. Exciting times!

Unless you live under a rock, you know there’s a pretty big sporting event taking over East London for the next few weeks. I live in Stratford, so I’m right slap bang in the middle of it all, within spitting distance of the stadium. I’ve watched the area change so rapidly over the past year and a half, it is actually mind blowing. New shops, buildings and green areas are popping up all over the gaff. So, if any of you happen to be down East London way, I thought I’d pass on a new found hidden gem I stumbled across a couple of months back.

I was lucky enough this week to have a very exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the new, not-yet-open-to-the- public Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, East London. To say I was excited would be an understatement. Anyone who lives in East London knows what this centre, along with the 2012 Olympic stadium, will do for the area, so to be here watching it all happening makes me feel pretty darn lucky. Take a glimpse below for some stats and exclusive pics.
