I’ve been a fan of Insa’s work for a while now. He transcends graffiti while staying true to street art’s roots. There is no mistaking an Insa piece when you see it emblazoned across the side of a building. So, when he announced recently that he was doing limited edition leggings, I got way overexcited. And when he says ‘limited’, he really means it. 30 pairs were handmade in London town with Insa’s signature print on them and the result is pretty darn head-turningly awesome.
They were pricey (though thankfully the other half got them for me as an early Christmas present), but some things are just worth it. It’s not just the exclusivity of them that appeals to me – though I won’t lie, knowing there are only 29 other people with the same leggings as me reduces my ‘accidental matching outfits on a night out’ anxiety a great deal – but as someone who really does think of fashion as wearable art, as style as one of the ultimate ways to express yourself, these leggings are rocking my world.
And yes, I am on the record as hating leggings, but dare I say it, I may actually wear these to run in. Also, since running, there’s a whole new sports luxe element of my style that I’ve been playing with that these might slot in with quite nicely.
Either way, I sure do have funky legs this Christmas.

I used to be a West London girl – the streets of Hammersmith, Shepherd’s Bush and Ladbroke Grove being my stomping grounds. Rarely, if ever, did I venture East. So, when I moved back down to London after a few years bouncing around various countries, and found myself living East side, I stumbled across a brave new world. Sure, the vibe’s different over this way (to say the least), but one of the best ongoing discoveries of the area is the street art, particularly around Shoreditch.

This past weekend I went to Berlin. It was my birthday when I flew out on the Friday and what better way to celebrate than to run a half marathon on the Sunday? I’d wanted to go to Berlin for a very long time, so the levels of excitamacation involved in this trip were pretty ridiculously high. Not only was it the culmination of months of hard work for my Team Bangs on the Run girls, but I was out there with about 60 members of the crew I run with, Run Dem Crew, so the weekend was extra special.
