Just over a year ago, I started my other website, Spikes & Heels – a fitness site for badass women. It’s gone from strength to strength and it’s given me so much pleasure to see more and more women embrace fitness in new ways. The response to the site has been amazing. While it’s aimed at badass women who train hard, my overall goal with the site and everything I try to do around it, is simply to get women moving. Earlier this year, I was approached by TRACE Sports TV and guess what? Spikes & Heels has been made into a TV show! HUZZAH!
The five-episode series is presented by myself and my co-host, Team GB 100m sprinter Jeanette Kwakye. It’s a magazine style show where we have an exercise segment, review fitness apps, interview pro-athletes, look at the best sportswear around in Spikes Style, catch up with some awesome street athletes and much more.
It’ll be shown on TRACE Sports TV (which is Sky channel 442 in the UK). Hop on over to Spikes & Heels to check out air dates and times.
Thanks so much for your continued support of my journey. Hopefully this will be the start of something great.

I get asked so many running and fitness related questions these days, I figured I’d just make some YouTube videos to answer them. This is the first one and I hope you find it useful. I’m trying to answer three questions per video and don’t want the vids to be too long, so here are some additional notes that didn’t make the video cut:

Any of you who follow this here blog will know that I’ve been on quite the fitness journey over the past couple of years. This has led to me running seven half marathons (with three more coming up this month), a full marathon, getting into boxing and pretty much throwing myself into any other fitness challenge that comes my way. Because of the role fitness has taken in my life, I started my Spikes and Heels website, dedicated to fitness for badass woman.
I get so many questions here, on Twitter and in real life about running and general fitness-related stuff from how to stay motivated to what kit to wear that I’ve decided to start doing some YouTube vids to answer some of them. The series will be called Fit For Life. My aim is simply to get more women to embrace fitness as part of their lifestyle and stop being scared of it.
So, my first video will be about running. What do you want to know? You can ask me anything – there are no stupid questions. If you’ve been looking to start running and are afraid to go into a running shop to find out the basics, just ask me.
Leave your questions in the comments section below and I will make a video addressing them ASAPtually.
So, ask away!

So, last night I was just hangin’ around…boom boom! In my spare time, I like to do nutso things, like try out Anti-Gravity Yoga. Check out my review on my other site, Spikes and Heels. And definitely, if you ever get the chance, give it a go.

If this summer of sport has taught us anything, it’s the power of activity. It has bonded us, we have marveled at the athletic prowess on display and most importantly, many have vowed to be more active. But as these final few weeks of summer draw to a close, how do we avoid this newly reinvigorated fitness buzz going the way of the New Year’s resolution?

On September 17th, I’ll be speaking at an event called ‘Winning Women – How Women are Transforming the Sports and Fitness Industries’ put on by the awesome SheSays at The Hospital Club. There’s a pretty excellent panel of women speaking and I’m so excited to be a part of it. Will you be joining us?

I came across the picture on the left recently, of me after I finished my first half marathon in October 2010. That look on my face is my ‘I can’t quite believe I just did that’ face. The pic on the right is from a shoot I did for Nike a couple of weeks ago. I put the two shots side by side and it was quite literally right there in front of me how far I’ve come. Running has been the propeller component that kick started this particular journey in my life, but it’s become about so much more than the running.
